Two-Headed Giant 2PAC follows the Pacific Old School rules with the following exceptions:
Deck Construction
With the exception of basic lands, a player’s deck may not contain more than 2 of any individual unrestricted card counted by its English card title equivalent.
Black Lotus and Chaos Orb are unrestricted (so you can play 2 of each). If you choose to play a 2nd copy of either of card, the 2nd copy can be a "tasteful" proxy (be reasonable).
There are no sideboards.
Gameplay
Matches consist of a single game and are played in teams of 2 vs 2. Teams are generated randomly each round based on individual win/loss record from prior rounds. Each teammate brings their own legal 60-card deck.
Official Wizards 2HG rules will be used, but here is a summary of some key differences:
- Each two-player team shares a 30-point life total and takes their turn simultaneously.
- If a team has 15 or more poison counters, that team loses the game.
- With the exception of life total and poison counters, a team's resources (cards in hand, mana, etc.) are not shared.
- The first mulligan a player takes doesn’t count toward the number of cards that player will put on the bottom of their library. Subsequent mulligans are counted toward that number as normal.
- Any reference to "you" on a card only applies to the individual controller of that card.
- Effects that read "each opponent" or "each player" affect each team member separately.
- Players can block any creature(s) that are attacking them or their teammate.
- The team that goes first skips their first draw step.
- If an effect gives a player an extra turn, phase, or step, that player's team takes the extra turn, phase, or step. The same is true if a turn, phase, or step is skipped.
- If an effect causes a player to control another player, the first player controls the affected player's team.
